Hi! I have 3 tanks currently going. I often have anywhere from 2-6. I have a rimless 20 that I bought from a member here with a stand, CO2 setup and all the works. I’ve had lots of low tech planted tanks but am just starting to get serious and learn about CO2. I had been dabbling with small CO2 tank I got where I mix citric acid and baking soda and make my own CO2.
I also have a modified 60L bioorb and I am happy with it for water parameters but struggling to get enough light for plants to thrive.
I have some plans in the works for that problem though.
Then I have a 40 gallon standard fair aquarium.
This is my first big girl tank. I am currently fighting diatoms but I remain optimistic I will get it dialed in. I have 4 bettas from Thailand and just added 3 nerites today.
It’s not easy. I’ve got the filtration worked out but the lighting has been super difficult. I have a submersible in it, then the light in the lid, I have 2 other lights I rotate around the tank daily.
Yesterday I installed some regular growing lights that are flat panels on the wall behind it. I’m also going to install two of the panels on the stand. I’m hoping that those 4 small panels will be enough to help the growth without looking like I have a bunch of spotlights around the tank.
The tank is lovely so I hope I can work it out!
