Thank you for the welcome! In a past life I was a reefkeeper from the late 80s to around 2005. That was a very technical endeavor and so could plant keeping as well, so I'm here to farm some knowledge with you all.

That was the time I also kept a reef tank. Had a journal over at ReefCentral. Seems like dark ages with what the reefing side does now!

Hey Art yeah Reef Central. I was the very first TOTM on their Reefkeeping magazine. I haven't kept up with reefkeeping news so I'm not familiar with what you mention as going dark. Interesting.

Wow, well that's impressive! Will you do that caliber with your planted tank?

Everyone left RC, seemingly overnight, and moved to Reef2Reef. Hard to believe how that happened but now R2R and Bulk Reef Supply are the huge monsters on that side of the hobby.

Planted aquariums haven't taken off like the reef side. It's puzzled me for years because I know planted tanks can also be very intricate to build.

Staying casual on my planted tank and it's a measly 20L . Who knows the thought of adding a C02 reactor later on has crossed my mind LOL.
