Hi everyone!

Based on statistics, over 70% of you are coming to ScapeCrunch on your mobile phones. That's fairly typical these days. And, if you're one of the 30% that didn't think to do that, consider it! It's a great way to stay connected on ScapeCrunch while you veg out on the couch, are waiting in line to pick up the kids, or your spouse is shopping and you're waiting in the car. Come on now, you know what I'm talking about!

Here's how to set it up so that you put an app to ScapeCrunch right on your phone's home screen. It would look like this:

For Android devices, the option to set up a Home Screen should come up automatically when you use your mobile browser to go to ScapeCrunch. You may see something saying whether you want the PWA (progressive web app) to set up a Home Screen app. Say yes and follow the instructions. If you can't get it, send me a message and I'll help you.

For iOS, it's a little different. First use your mobile browser to navigate to ScapeCrunch. Then click the share button at the bottom of the screen:

Then scroll down a bit to see the option to set up a Home Screen app:

You will get the following screen. Change the name to ScapeCrunch as shown:

Click add and you should have your very own ScapeCrunch icon on your phone's screen like below. Click on it anytime you want to come visit us here and enjoy!

Making use of the app on a stopped Texas highway. Comes in handy!

Great tip. Thank you I didn’t even know you could do that.

Great tip. Thank you I didn’t even know you could do that.
I didn’t either!! But it’s very helpful.

I was in a standstill traffic mess today and I pulled my phone out, hit the button and started checking posts.

Super easy.

I set up forums into a tab group on my IPhone. Keeping them all together so I can jump in a see what is going on.
I do this with the forums that do not have a Tapatalk plugin installed.

Bumping as we have quite a few new members that could benefit from this. Kind reminder for everyone else!

Thanks for posting this. Just added the app to my home screen. Hopefully it will get me in here more often!

You can also get digests sent to your email to remind you of what's happening here at ScapeCrunch. Just go into your profile section and select the frequency - daily, weekly, monthly. Then you don't need to remember, you'll get an email with a summary of posts and activity.

Bumping for the new members. Our stats show that almost 80% of you are visiting ScapeCrunch on mobile devices (and 1 from a Tesla @JPog). By setting up a Home Screen icon, it makes it easy to jump in to see what's happening here whenever you have a free moment.

LOL, this will definitely be an area of growth, since Tesla alone is selling 300,000 cars a quarter (or they were), plus all the new EVs coming out that will have similar features and easter eggs.

But there are times when I'm not in my car so I did set it up on my phone via the mobile app, but it seems that it logs me out every time I close it and try to go back in. That is using Safari on my IOS, it doesn't seem to allow you to create a home button using chrome/edge. Unless I'm missing something.

It shouldn't be logging you off unless you didn't accept the cookie. You may want to delete and do it again.

I have tested it on Safari not Chrome or Edge.

Thanks @Art, tried all that still signs me out. It's probably my phone since it's been pretty wonky lately, I'm getting a new phone anyway so I'll see if the problem continues.

It’s not a Tesla but I’m on an airplane and ScapeCrunching over breakfast.

You can stop by ScapeCrunch from anywhere.

I am sorry to re-open an old thread, but I am wondering if there is any possibility of enabling this forum to be used with the Tapatalk app? That'd be really convenient ;)

Hi Fab,

No one has asked for that in years but I used to use it for all my forum memberships. I'll see what I can do and let you know.

Best,

Art
