Recently I started using 'Seachem Purigen' to help in cleansing the water column, you can find the details about this through this link
After tryin it for like 2 weeks, I believe this product is very good, it cleans the water like never happened before, but I have a couple of questions:
  1. Yesterday I added the liquid ferts, which usually cloud the water a bit, specially after dosing Iron, in the morning everything was crystal clean which never happened before using 'Seachem Purigen', so does it clean the ferts particles as well, because if this is the case then probably I will need to increase the ferts dose?
  2. To clean or regenerate 'Seachem Purigen' the following is mentioned in the directions: "Soak in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours in a non-metallic container in a well ventilated area and away from children. Use regular 8.25% hypochlorite household bleach (non-scented, no dyes, do not use a splash-less bleach)", so does anyone know if Clorox can be used as the bleach to clean/regenerate 'Seachem Purigen'?
I think this is the only bleach available in my location but not sure whether it is correct to use it then soak 'Seachem Purigen' afterwards in water with the de-chlorinator or this can ruin Purigen os the chlorine traces will remain in Purigen which can harm the fish after adding Purigen again to the tank !

Yes, you can use the clorox, but only if it's regular clorox. As mentioned just make absolutely sure it's not SPLASHLESS. As it contains ingredients that create a foaming action and will kill many things in your tank adn be difficult to remove. I use regular bleach 1 to 1 to clean most things, lily pipes, diffusers, etc.

Ok, the one that I was going to use seems to be splashless, this amazon link stats this very clearly in the title (https://www.amazon.com/Clorox-Splash-Less-Bleach-Regular-Ounces/dp/B073HMPNWL)

Do you have a link or photo of the regular Clorox that is not splashless?

Note: I used the one in the link before to clean the filter pipes, but I soaked them for like a week in a de-cholorinator which I renewed several times during the week, and after using them in the tank no harm was done to the fish or plants, but I am a bit worried of using it with Purigen since this is not just a plastic pipe that can be rensed easily

Just to piggyback, here’s an example of regular Clorox. The splashless and scented varieties will clearly state so on the front label.

In addition, a quicker way to regenerate Purigen is by using some form of agitation. I personally have a magnetic stirrer plate and it exponentially quickens the time it takes to regenerate the Purigen. This picture was taken 5 minutes after I started mixing the Purigen in the bleach solution. The Purigen was initially a very dark brown.AF2CD9B8-552D-4311-A6C4-48C57E896214.jpeg24C85AAE-A4BA-41AB-84A6-AAA9528595A0.jpeg

I like the idea of the magnetic stirrer. But, I am a bit curious - what you are stirring looks like the Purigen beads without the factory filter bag (I have used the 100 ml pre-sealed bag for up to 100 gallons).
I assume you opened the factory bag? Or did you buy in bulk and have your own filter bag?

Yes I overkill the use of Purigen and buy in bulk. I have a refillable bag so when I regenerate it I take it out.

That's a good idea with the magnetic stirrer. I always found it a pain to regenerate Purigen effectively. I've been using mostly AC now. I do think Purigen and Carbon are beneficial especially if you have alot of hardscape and are sacrificing uptake in that space.
