I am really into the rare and uncommon plants, let’s see some of yours!
This one is a Gymnocoronis spilanthoides variegate I pulled this sprout off the mother plant yesterday

Looks like an interesting plant. I like it.

Most of my "rares" were rare when I got them but they aren't rare anymore. Seems many spread pretty darn quickly in the hobby.

That being said I do always enjoy trying something new and have a hard time resisting! Most of us are a sick bunch that way! How many have reached out to get this new one since you posted it??

I haven’t had much because it’s so new Gregg but if you want one message me brother

Maybe a little off topic (please don't ban me), but in regards to the Buces, the names I'm assuming are not official names, they are retail/marketing names so to speak. I sometimes see 10 different names for what looks like the same plant and then you have the impact of light/tank conditions that make them look different. So I really don't even know what I have with any certainty. Godzilla, Brownie Ghost, Arrogant Blue

Well this is so true. And JPog, this isn't ban-worthy so no worries, LOL. I don't even know how to ban people so not planning on it unless we find a troll or bully. I don't like either.

As for your point, absolutely something that is happening with the hobby as more growers and retailers get in. It has happened in the reef side with corals. You'll see things like Bubble Gun Acro, Sunset Montipora, Tyree Purple Monster...

While I love the creativity of the descriptive names, we should also include the particular species. To me, at least, it is very interesting to see how environment plays a role in how a species looks.

From what I understand most of the names are regional. This buce was taken from this part of the country, this one from that but in fact their the exact same species. Another thing to consider is the capitalization of this part of the hobby. For example If I were to take a buce cutting from my tank and call it something else and sell both in different places I'd make more.... Personally I think its like all of our other plants, each grow different depending upon the conditions.

It’s true that Bucephalandra can vary greatly in appearance, depending on the environment, submerged, emersed, light intensity, water temperature and parameters etc.
The one thing that remains constant over all, is the inflorescence, which is why it’s necessary to observe and compare inflorescence to properly identify different types.

Some of my favorite rare/uncommon plants are different types of mosses/fissidens. Here are a few of mine:
Fissidens sp. Japonicum

This is an aquatic liverwort found in Hawaii that I’m experimenting with at the moment, with propagation and different environments.
It has a very unique and distinctive growth pattern.
