I am going to put together some more media on this tank once I'm completely done with it, but I am enjoying it so much already that I wanted to share now. This one is special. I collected the driftwood locally on a long paddle boarding trip with my wife. It was a really fun day and I love that I get to add pieces of it to this scape. I am not done planting yet as I want to add some Buce, AR mini, and maybe Hellanthium. The tank will be stocked with Heterandria Formosa and Blue Diamond Neocaridina Shrimp. The fish are special because I picked them up on a family trip in Florida. This was a really fun build and I'm excited to share it with you all. I'm up for constructive criticism also. I am not totally set on lighting or background color. I am running an Asta 20 from Luminie right now as I was hoping to get that pinpoint light shimmer.
I also want to take just a second to say thank you. I haven't been super active in this group, but I have been lurking. I really like you guys. Everyone is really helpful and there are some straight up pros in here. I really appreciate being a part of such an experienced group of hobbyists.

Welcome to the forum @Trey and nice introduction of the tank. Good to hear how much you are enjoying putting it together. Having a passion for the hobby is one of the keys.

I am looking forward to seeing where this goes from here.

And here's a tip. If you go into the editing mode you can click on your picture then adjust the size by dragging the corners. It will look better when someone can see it on one page without having to scroll through the picture.

Hi Gregg! Thank you for the tip! Does that format look better?

Hi @Trey - thank you so much for your kind words! I know I speak for everyone when I say we're glad you're here and engaging with the community.

I really like how natural the aquascape looks. Well done!

Like Gregg mentioned, having a passion for what you're creating is important in making it special. The fact that it has aspects that you personally collected in your travels takes it to the next level.

One question just from curiosity. Did you sterilize the wood before you put it in?

Hi Art!
Thank you for the compliment. And yes, I boiled the wood twice and then soaked it for months to make sure it was safe. I tested the water it was soaking in for specific gravity and ammonia.
Edit to add after boiling I also cleaned each piece by hand with a wire brush and a bamboo skewer to make sure all loose organic material and anything soft was removed.
