Okay, the most humble tech close up I can achive: took my old Canon EOS 600D with standard lens kit and mounted a cheap macro extention tube set in between. To eliminate shaking: put it on a tripod and use a remote control.

As a reference, the arrow points what I photographed (sadly out of focus with my Iphone)
I estimated the lens is 1-2 cm in front of the object.

oh cheers, I appreciate it, I have spot for something to tone down, contrast a bit with blood red rotala. im using apt 3, so hoping there's enough nitrates to keep the colours, similar to yours.
