It's the summer in the northern hemisphere and things are a little slow online. Most people are trying to get outside and enjoy the weather. So, I think it's a perfect time to test out a little ScapeCrunch Challenge Game.

Let's Aquascape!

The objective: Design an aquascape in keeping with each week's theme using the Scape It site. Post it on Friday and we vote for the best aquascape over the weekend.

This week's theme: Use driftwood, stone and aquatic plants in a 60P aquarium.

Head over to Scape It, it's free. Choose the 60P aquarium and start aquascaping! Come back tomorrow, screen shot it and post it in the thread I will start by 11:59 pm tomorrow. We then can discuss and score them over the weekend.

Will you accept the challenge??

OK I will start. Here's my aquascape. It was fun and challenging.

My goal was a triangle style incorporating driftwood, stone and, of course, plants.

What do you see was my goal? How was my composition? Don't give up my day job?

Thanks for participating, @Kwyet. I like your vision.

Looks like you went for a triangle as well. Larger and better executed than mine. Branch dominant with stones supporting.

I like how you put the red focal point on the third line. Well done.

What did you think of Scape It for mocking up an aquascape?

As only you and I participated, I’m assuming this isn’t something others want to do. Likely we won’t repeat but I’m interested in what you thought of the ability to pre-plan an aquascape like this.

Thank you very much! It did turn out similar to yours, unintentionally. I looked at yours first, so it must have been in the back of my mind. I thought it was a fun exercise, and it wasn’t too hard to figure out. I wish it had a greater variety of choices. I think you might have more participation if it wasn’t on a Friday, or if there was a longer time span to get it done. There was also a lot of activity today (yay!) that probably distracted from this project.

I actually couldn’t sleep, so I did another one for fun. I’m not good at island scapes, but here’s my attempt.

Wow, love it! Well done! You are better than you give yourself credit for.

Let's see if others chime in here over time and maybe we revisit with more time.
