I bought some Moina online, and when it arrived it had duckweed in it. I haven’t done anything with it yet, because I don’t want it spreading to my other tanks. The seller claims it’s no problem because it isn’t a micro duckweed, and if I skim it out it won’t come back. I’m highly skeptical. Does anyone know from personal experience?

You would think if it was that simple the seller would have done it before shipping…

I just bought some Daphnia eggs rather than a live culture.

Why don't you put the daphnia in a bucket and then skim off the duckweed?
Because the small kind grows back from one leaf or one hair, spreads easily to other tanks, and even when you think it’s completely gone it’ll start over months later. I had it in Florida and could never completely get rid of it, especially in tanks with floating plants. If the large kind works the same way, I don’t want to deal with it, and who knows if this guy even knows for sure what it is? It doesn’t look any bigger to me than what I had before when it was fully grown. I don’t know this person.
