Looking for advice here. My AR are getting taller than I like. How do you guys trim these? It would be easy to propagate by cutting the top and replanting it, but I don't need more. So for the sake of it looking better I was planning on trimming the top, pulling the bottom, and planting the top back in its place.
Thoughts?

I always just cut the top and replanted them. If the bottoms were in good shape they would re-grow after trimming off all the old leaves from the entire stem stub. If not I’d cut them down to the substrate level. They did all seem to grow back more densely. The AR in this tank are all replanted tops.

What sort of height do most people aim for with AR? What height ranges does it look best at?

I have a love hate relationship with this plant. It has, without question been the plant most responsible for my improving my plant keeping skills and motivating me to invest in better equipment.
