We are ScapeCrunch, the place where planted aquarium hobbyists come to build relationships and support each other. When you're tired of doom scrolling, you've found your home here.
I was at the LFS today looking at TC plants. I thought they were much cheaper. What happened? Seems not that long ago, a cup was $7. I bought 2, and it came to $35 with tax. Blyxa japonica was $16 and Crypt parva was $16.50.
Blyxa maybe, but crypt parva is nowhere near worth that price tag. And I honestly haven’t seen any TC near me other then from Petco or petsmart and they are usually trash when they make it to the store
Yeah, my LFS is making an effort to do more planted tank stuff. They have a couple different aqua soils, some fertilizer, lots of potted and tc plants, and hardscape. I'm trying to support local, but they are on the other side of town. Life is busy. Its hard to devote an hour after a busy work day to driving for a $16 cup of parva. I have to admit, they have a decent selection. I'm gonna keep trying.

It's called the Fish Room. There are 2 of them. You want the one in Raleigh on Capital Blvd. The planted stuff isn't extensive like some amazing influencer video on Instagram, but it's better than most every other place I've been to.
