Hi!

I'm Art now from Houston but originally from Miami.

I've been involved with the planted aquarium hobby for many years. My passion for planted aquariums pre-dates today's Internet (yes, I'm old). I got my start when I saw The Planted Aquarium book from Dupla on a LFS shelf. The rest is history.

Oh, I also imported Aqua Design Amano into the US, started Aquatic Plant Central, had a little podcast called ScapeFu and several other passion projects involving the planted aquarium hobby. The latest of which is this long-term project, ScapeCrunch.

Welcome and I hope you find ScapeCrunch to be a friendly and dynamic place for you to share you passion for planted aquariums with others who are just as passionate. The goal is to serve you and make this site valuable to YOU. Please lean in, engage and make suggestions on how we can improve.

Wow, it’s been a long time huh? Many years ago when Art stepped away from APC I became the admin. That was a fun few years. I dropped away from the hobby and only got back to it about a month ago. I’m back at it with a 180g planted tank and a 46g bow front that is planted in a very low-tech sort of way. Happy to be aboard here.

I was also one of the first moderators on aquascapingworld when John N launched it. Glad to see others have a livelong obsession with this great hobby.
