Gorilla Glue-Watch out!

This is a warning to anyone who uses super glue to secure plants. I recently opened a fresh package of what I thought was gorilla super glue, it wasn’t!!! You’ll notice it’s the same micro squeeze bottle type, which is perfect for how little we need to secure moss and reophytes. However, the one on the right is their “clear” original gorilla glue formula that doesn’t expand or dry yellow. This was a silly mistake on my part, and thankfully, I didn’t hurt my fish. Be careful!

So what is wrong with the clear stuff? I’ve never had any luck with any Gorilla glue product so I’ve never tried it for plants. I’ve always used loctite gel and it’s been a mess, most likely user error on my part.

I’m looking for quicker option than sowing since I’m going to need a 5 gallon bucket of moss to make my walls. Sowing is going to take a solid month.

“Clear Gorilla Glue” is NOT Cyanoacrylate. It’s a version of the original that’s supposed to dry clear and not expand.

The super glue gel works great, especially using the micro squeeze bottle above in my first post.

Does the super glue gel that gorilla makes expand?

No it’s gel form of cyanoacrylate, just gorilla brand.

Gotcha. Was a bit confused by your statement about the clear stuff not expanding. Haven’t had enough coffee yet today

Yeah the bottle needs to say super glue, if it doesn’t then it’s not cyanoacrylate.
