When I was working to get back into this, I wanted to have fun and grow all these crazy plants like the Eriocaulon, Xyris, and Blood Vomit that we didn't have 20 years ago. The other day on FB Planted Tank Auctions someone asked where they could get Blood Vomit. Several people replied that they had it. I was at work, so I made a note to go back to the post later. When I went back, it had been deleted because the rules of that page is that all posts were to be auctions only. Surely Winston at S21 Aquatics isn't the only person who sells this stuff. He has been out of what I want for months. Where do I go to find it?

Thanks,
Ben

CO2 Supplemented Tanks on FB. Reach out here directly to people like Joe Harvey and others. ChiChis planted dreams, Aquarium Plants Factory or Glass Aqua carry some harder to find plants. But just about everything can be had on CO2 Supplemented tanks.

I'm on there and we all know Joe, but the Eriocaulons and Xyris aren't usually his bag. I don't usually see much for sale on there, but maybe I need to check it out more to get algorithmed better. (Pretty sure that isn't a word :D )

Much fun for fish, I just brought this young man over from Thailand last month:

Activity is pretty seasonal, not as much going on during the cold months.. I was fortunate to slide this transship in between storms.. it was a nailbiter 😬

Yes Etsy has completely hoovered the plant market away, also Ebay 👍

This Etsy guy sells xyris red sometimes, might touch base and see when he'll have it back in stock. This eBay guy does too.

The issue there is that people work on their tanks in the winter when there isn't much to do and neglect in the summer when they are outside or on vacation. I'm thinking of transitioning mine over the Anubium, Buces, and Crypts for the summer. I'd rather be riding my bike. We'll see.

On the flip side, it's difficult to ship in winter. It has been unusually cold where I live.

I checked Etsy and none of the plants I wanted. I'll look at eBay.

I'll get it. I need to be patient. As I mentioned, I just wanted to do some of this newer stuff, I can't get any of it, and I had hope to switch over to slower growing over the summer.

I did get Erio quingualaqkjasdfkjwbe That one that starts with a Q from @le.nella Cherries. :D I moved them before they had much of a chance to get settled, but now they seem to be getting going.

Just ask LF on the CO2 Supplemented. I'm 100 positive people will respond. I have Erio Feather duster, which seems quite rare in the USA currently because I simply kept asking.
The reason they are rare is because there simply is like 100 years of nobody wanting them followed by 1 year of insane demand. Nobody keeps them. I had over 100 pcs of Eriocaulon 'Japan Needle Leaf,' had them all die cause of neglect since nobody wanted them!

That's great that you're having the Eriocaulon quinquangulare working for you!

It's user interface is archaic and needs a refresh
That is an understatement. 15-20 years ago when it was a hot bed of plant trading, it looked exactly the same. I'm sure it is just a cheap basic software and the cost to upgrade wouldn't pay for itself in the revenue from the site. If you look for an auction site called Day Lily Auctions, it looks like they use the same crappy software.

Its user interface was archaic 25 years ago 🤣 straight up Windows 98 stuff. Part of its dorky charm.. social media before iphones or Zuckerberg, for fish people 🐟

And technically in a car that would make it a Classic 😁 🚙
