I'm new to dry dosing.

My tank is 120cm x 60cm x 60cm. After accounting for soil, I'm working with 360 litres.

When doing a water change, I've been adding CaSo4 and MgSo4, along with dry dosing the weekly amount macros and the daily amount of micros.

I've been told it's not a good idea to dose the CaSo4 and the macros at the same time when doing a water change.
Is this correct or not?

Hopefully @GreggZ can chime in

Thank you

If it's not a good idea I guess I didn't get the memo! :D

I have been doing the same exact thing as you for years now.

My water change is 70 gallons. The incoming 70 gallons is dosed with CaSO4, MgSO4, and all macros to reach my water column target. I refer to it as front end loading. All macros and Ca/Mg are added in one single large dose after a water change.

Then I dose micros daily. We might have to open a new thread on this site sometime...."Myth Busters".;)

I had a feeling at may have been a myth!. But hey, I'm no chemist, and thought why not post this here to get clarification and to get a little more involved in this forum (as per Art's request) 😆

Myth Buster thread sounds like a good idea 💡

Thanks again @GreggZ

I'll pose another question:

Which camp are you part of?

When mixing up a batch of water, do you add your GH and Macro's into it first, or do you perform the water change and then just dump everything into the tank itself?
Mine is premixed in my storage barrels. But if I didn't have the barrels I would like just dump it in the tank. I can't see how it could much difference, other than the aesthetics of waiting for it to dissolve in the tank.
