I am using dragon stone in most of my current aquascapes, probably the main reason was that I am unable to find any other stones where I live, it caused me a lot of issues at the beginning because it is a clay based stone, cleaning it was a nightmare, once I figured out the correct way I believe I won't go for any other stone :)

All the details in this video

Just be aware that not all rocks sold as “dragon stone” is clay based, and may change water parameters due to minerals leaching out. A good way to test if rocks are inert is to drop some vinegar on it and see if it “fizzes”. If so, the stone is probably not inert and will affect water parameters

You are right, I used to test with vinegar then after a while I stopped as I am buying the stones from fish stores so it seems that all of them sell fish safe stones and rocks as I didn't face a single case where I bought something and turned to be not safe (so far)
