DIY Reactor made from an empty FX6 canister filter

I've got a 180g (72"x24"x24") tank with CO2. I've realized I need a reactor to dissolve the CO2 into the water efficiently. I also have an idle FX6 cannister filter that I feel would be a great reactor... Does anyone have an opinion on this?
