I have brown algea in my tank for 5 months. I read it should go away on its own. But I still have them. What should I do?

A little more info about tank, plants, dosing, lighting, filtration etc would help greatly.

Low tech plants, fx6 and two hang back filters, c02, 125 gallon, eco complete base substrate toped of with diamond blast and flourite., dose sechem flourish, exel, potaium, nitrogen, phosphorus, iron , EI method .

Those Seachem liquids can get wonky when you start trying to hit EI levels (and expensive!) To hit EI with Flourish liquids I assume you are using a nutrient calculator? make sure you arent double dosing Fe. Most calculators run Flourish based on Fe, then youre also using Seachem Iron. So one, make sure you arent dosing 2x EI for Fe. And two, thats a lot of Fe gluconate (whats in both) Any time I dose high levels of jsut Fe gluconate I get this weird sometimes brown-diatom-looking hair algae.

Other than that make sure you arent doing something in your maintenance that prevents the tank from cycling properly. Diatoms are usually a sign of an immature bio-filter
