I found a thread with some good lighting discussion, but I wanted some more Chihiros specific, since that's what I have. There is a Netlea thread, so why not?
What Chihiros do you have?
What size tank is it over?
How long is your photoperiod?
What are your settings?

I'll go first. Please feel free not to use this format.

I've just increased the light some. I had started to wonder if it was enough.

Hopefully more people with Chihiros lighting chime in. I find these threads become helpful when people are considering between the different brands out there.

Yeah, I feel like we are in the summer lows. Everyone is on vacation or doing stuff outside. Except those on the east coast enjoying 100F+ weather. We are inside cowering from the heat.

Enjoying... Yes, as it’s my last day to load the trailer before AFB picks it up tomorrow I’m really enjoying it 🥵.

It would be useful to add the length of the light
Ok, unable to edit original post…

I have 2 chihiros WRGB 2 Pro 60 cm fitted together to make 4 feet.

The lights are 6 inches above the water in the middle front to back and mirrored reflectors are fitted on either edge.

There is a sheet of twinwall polycarbonate between the light and the water.

How did you decided between the wrgb ii and the pro model?

Chihiros WRGB II & WRGB II Pro

The Chihiros WRGB II and WRGB II Pro are slightly thicker (5mm) but have the same housing look as the WRGB II Slim Edition. Visually the adjustable silver and black steel holders differ. But the most significant difference to the Slim Edition lies in the things that aren't obvious at first sight.

These WRGB II lamps really are WRGB, as they have installed single red, green, blue, and white LEDs.

Also, they bring a lot more brightness and luminous power to the aquarium. A 60 cm variant of the (W)RGB II Slim Edition delivers 2,400 lm (45W), the WRGB II almost twice as much with 4,500 lm (67W), and the WRGB II Pro 6,630 lm (74W) nearly three times the value of luminous power.

Thanks. I should have clarified my question. For a 60p which is not very deep is the increased luminous power worth it? I read elsewhere that the pro version would be more preferable for deeper tanks (18 inches or more). Guess there is never too much light! I ended up ordering the wrgb ii 10th anniversary version which had more luminous power in the 5000s so thought it would be a happy medium.

I originally bought mine for two 29 gallon tanks knowing that the power would be overkill…

But my ultimate long term plan for the lights was to join them together on a 75 gallon tank…

Hey Ben, what is the Height above the water line?
5"
How did you decided between the wrgb ii and the pro model?
Honestly, not by any intelligent method. In the past the cheaper models of lights (any brand) often weren't bright enough or lacked features. I got the highest powered one that I could with 4 channels and I could put on a stand. Its easier to throttle a light back than it is to add more. I looked at the Vivid, but you have to hang those, so it wouldn't work for me. It's fine. I now know the Vivid is way more power than I need.

@Sb1415 I have updated my specs for you
@Pepere I don't know how you copied the format before, but I found it a pain to do. Here is an updated one if you want to use it.

Others: Note that I have changed my light levels. I've had it this way for 2 weeks at least. I was looking at the wrong thing when I posted last week.

I have a wrgb ii (non pro) and hate the thing I suspect the pro fixes my issue with tones as it adds a white led but i don't need the power.

I do have a pair of 'B' i picked up cheap for testing - they are a little more expensive than hygger and a wee bit stronger. They do not allow setting tones just intensity level but the overall rendering is not bad. Their coverage is weak as they are quite thin maybe 1/2 the width of the hygger and probably $15 or $20 more expensive. Hum. Since i replaced the ai blade on my 10 with it my wonderful crypt tiger died :(
