Chihiros Heater Pro - any thoughts on this product?

I own two, but haven't had extensive enough time to give a review. They seem well-made and accurate in terms of temp readout. Would love to hear from someone who has more experience witht his newer product!
I hope someone else can chime in with their comments as well.

I originally thought of getting an Oase biomaster, but it is pricey and seems wasteful to get a new heater when I have a perfectly working Fluval 307. My thoughts are it will be more economical to just add an inline heater.

I definitely think an inline heater would be the best option for what you want. I have 2 of the Aquael Flow heater 2.0s and they work great. I’ve been running 1 of them for well over a year now.

I was looking into the Chihiros ones and it looked like they only fit up to 16/22mm tubing and my Aquael Ultramax 2000 uses 19/25mm. The Bluetooth control that lets you set the wattage is really cool on the Chihiros but Aquael recently released a BT version of the flow heater. I don’t think I can get them yet in the U.S. but you may be able to in the UK and they have a longer warranty than the Chihiros. I really don’t think you could go wrong with either though.

As for the Biomasters, they are really nice filters but i don’t think they’re worth going out and buying if you already have a good reliable filter. My Ultramax 2000 has a prefilter, pushes 50 more liters per hour and I got it + the heater for $100 less than the Biomaster 2 Thermo 850 is going for. Now if you’re starting a tank from scratch, then I think the biomaster thermos are definitely worth looking into.
