I am looking for suggestions for a book to help me identify plants. I find myself lost with names of different stems sometimes, and don't get me started with Bucephalandra. I'm not sure there is a book out there that could do what I want because it seems like new varieties are coming into the hobby daily, but I'd love to have some suggestions.

@Trey, for me, Christel Kasselmann's book is the best resource out there today. I'm honored to say that Karen Randall and I did some editing of her first edition. It's a fantastic reference book. She has a second edition now that adds more plants.
I have Christel's book as well (2nd Edition). Great resource!

I was away from the hobby for 8 or 9 years and coming back, I’m FLOORED at how many new, cool species are available. Back then, there were 3 or 4 “standard” red plants and a few more that you could find if you were lucky. Now, there are seemingly hundreds of new species, let alone varieties. It’s like an artist discovering new colors. Very cool, but, like you say, a bit daunting to keep track of.
