I just swapped my substrate to aqua soil. I left about an 8th inch layer of my old sand and the media has been cycled for a while now. Should I plant now or wait for the potential ammonia spike to pass?

Sounds good, Ty.
Its definitely a thing. A lot of blyxa will melt in brand new soil. For most plants the usual extra water changes will handle it. I usually plant day one
